Sentinels RC Beta 3
Letting you guys know that Luke Nukem and myself  (with the contributions from Vaptor) are currently working on another sentinel release within the next few days.... 

SentinelsRCBeta features (only a few here):
- Fixed configuration settings
- Reduced ESR range
- Fixed UT2004RPG functionality.
- Plus a whole ton more functionality fixes

Anyways, I will keep ya posted

The ADS-2 "Sentinel" automated defence system was designed to help defend
large installations when available personnel are limited in number.
It comes with everything necessary to set up a barrier of formidable
firepower. This includes components to create cannon, and the Sentinel
Deployer, which can be loaded with components and then used to construct
a cannon on-site virtually instantaneously, or to repair or upgrade an
existing cannon.

Installation

 ZIP:
  Unzip into UT2004/. All files will go in proper directories automatically.

Instant Action

 - Start any gametype.
 - Add the Sentinels mutator.

Hosting a server
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
 - Command Line:

  The proper mutator option is:
   ?Mutator=SentinelsRCBeta3.mutSentinels
   

  Also make sure to add Sentinels to the server's serverpackages like so:

   [Engine.GameEngine]
   ...
   ServerPackages=SentinelsRCBeta3
   ...

Modify Settings
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
You can leave the default settings as is, however if you want to change any settings of sentinels,
Simply edit the SentinelsRCBeta3.ini file.

The way the settings work is that there is a section for each game type, with 5 additional custom game types.

Simply copy the settings you wish to change that are listed under the section [SentinelsRcBeta3.SentinelConfigs]
to the applicable game type.

If you have a custom gametype (lets say VCTF for example) but would like to use the settings under the section:
[SentinelsRcBeta3.SentinelConfigsVCTF],then simply add 2 more settings so it looks similar to:

[SentinelsRcBeta3.SentinelConfigsVCTF]
ClassName="YourCustomGameClass.YourCustomVCTFMutator"
FriendlyGameType="A friendly name for your custom game class"

If you have more than one custom VCTF game type, then utilize the [SentinelsRcBeta3.SentinelConfigs1CUSTOM]
sections (1-5) as necessary.

** Note use the ClassName= to specify the customized gametype so that your settings will be recognized correctly.
** Note the settings that are used will be logged (as the friendly name) in the server log in case you need to debug.
** Note You do not need to add all settings for the game types, just add the settings that need to be
   changed from the [SentinelsRcBeta3.SentinelConfigs]  section.

- Fixed Sentinel Targeting AI - Sentinel no longer stares into space on a distant target
- Prevent yourself/teammates from being sucked into Vortex
- Shortened ESR, Blast and Inferno Cannon firing range
- Fixed InitialAmount and MaxAmmo settings not working properly
- Allow upgrades for non-team games (such as deathmatch)
- Removed bEnableCrates setting as it isn't used anywhere.
- Added AmmoPerSabotage config setting.  Can specify the amount of ammo to recieve for each sabotage
- Removed non-team game prevention of repair and sabotages (such as DM)
- Fixed TeamAdvantageCannons not working properly
- Allow upgrades to be installed even if you were pushed away from your sentinel while you were in the upgrade menu
* Fixed Sentinels to work with UT2004RPG mod V2.1

SentinelSteroids RC Beta - Mar 27, 2005

Fixes:

- Fixed the dropping ceiling sentinels.
- Sentinel Upgrade list is resorted... Makes it easier to find.
- Sentinels no longer attack un-manned turrets.
- Fixed Flak Cannon sentinel
- Deemer sentinel now shoots a deemer properly.

Enhancements:
-=-=-=-=-=-=-
- Added 3 types of crates.  a) Small Ammo, b)Large Ammo, c) Random Ammo.  The important thing here is that the random ammo is the box that you can see the gun inside.  If the box is closed, then it is a large crate of ammo.  Now the crates appear on the map randomly and disappear.
- Sabotage other enemy sentinels give you sentinel parts.
- Removing Sentinel upgrades.  The admin can choose which upgrades they want on the sents.
- Destroy sentinel is now called Dismantle.  When you dismantle, you get all your parts back.  If your ammo is maxed out, then it will place a crate in front of you with the remainder.
- Player is notified when his/her sent is destroyed.
- Tossing a sentinel no longer prevents you from upgrading your sentinel.  So you can give your teammates all your parts without worries.

hiya rc,
 just thought i'd come in here and give you some well deserved props on this last batch of sent's. dude these are the best so far, the ini was greatly improved and because of that i am able to custom config them for each gamrtype custom or not. ten thumbs up dude you rock. the few bugs they have , one was mentioned in another post. are small potatoes to what they do and how configurable they are. thanks for all your hard work!!!
 on a side note , our forums have taken up most my spare time for the last while as well as ut2vote. this is why my new mapps have been put off so long. outdoor fun id just a few hours away from completion but it hasnt been touched in a month or more. this weekend i plan on formatting my server to get the last little rem's of ut2vote out of my system so when i am done i will jump back on the mapps. a week or so will be golden for outdoor fun, and there are two more vctf's right behind it so look out dude there a commin!!
 nother side note, i made a fine pack of custom rank files they are 20x100, they do not mention pbg ill send em to ya if you like em they are yours to use. we are using them on our forums currently, but we have tons of custom artwork so they might not be forever, i may release them to the publis as well, not sure yet.

That really sucks for  offline play with bots.  Logically, the same sensor level should effect firing range exactly the same for all firing modes.  You could have more sensor levels with the highest good for sniper use.   The user should be allowed to do something stupid like try to sniper with the flak mod.   You could also make firing range configurable in the INI file.

The sentinels were balanced mainly for online multiplayer games.  For single player you are on your own.
